Delhi government plans rehabilitation for 5 lakh people in Yamuna floodplains, 18,000 flats identified

Why in News?

The Delhi government is preparing a rehabilitation plan for approximately 5 lakh people residing in the Yamuna floodplains (O-Zone). So far, 18,000 flats have been identified for relocation, addressing concerns about illegal constructions and environmental regulations in the ecologically sensitive zone.
